BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

ASHRAE DISTINGUISHED LECTURER: ABHISHEK KHURANA RECENTLY VISITED THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, ST. AUGUSTINE CAMPUS IN TRINIDAD TO PRESENT HIS SEMINARS ON BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS

In January, the ASHRAE CARICOM Chapter hosted a dynamic event featuring ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, Abhishek Khurana, who delivered two insightful presentations on building automation systems. With over 50 attendees, both in-person and virtually, the event fostered an engaging atmosphere of knowledge-sharing and collaboration. Drawing from extensive experience in the field, Abhishek provided invaluable insights into the intricacies of building automation systems, enriching our understanding and sparking meaningful discussions. As our inaugural event for the year, it set a promising tone for the chapter’s endeavors in 2024 and beyond, igniting a momentum that we are eager to sustain and build upon in the months to come.

COMMUNICATION TRAINING WITH ASHRAE REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR

The Chapter’s Communications Committee recently received valuable training from ASHRAE Region XII’s Regional Communication Chair, Franco D’Atri. Training was received by Annalissia Edwards (left), Jayden Drakes (right) and Chapter Secretary and Communications Chair, Kenrick Mohammed who attended virtually. 

RECENT EVENTS

ASHRAE TRINIDAD STUDENT BRANCH - STUDENT MIXER

In January, a student mixer was hosted by the ASHRAE Trinidad Student Branch, drawing predominantly from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Among the distinguished guests were ASHRAE regional officials: Regional Communications Chai,r
Franco D’Atri,  Young Engineers in ASHRAE Regional Vice Chair (YEA RVC),Keiron Nanan and ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, Abhishek Khurana, lending their expertise to the future engineers. The event provided a platform for students to network, learn about ASHRAE and engage in engineering related discussions.
